Ronald’s traumatic brain injury occurred in 2004. He has received 80 hyperbaric treatments so far. Since his treatments, he can reach for an object more directly instead of moving his arm in circles. His words are becoming clearer. He asks where a family member is going when he sees them putting on a jacket. He has become more cognitive and his reaction time is much better. The family feels like he gets depressed a little more because he has become more aware of himself and his abilities.

Ron sleeps much better through the night and gets into less trouble. His ability to swallow has not improved to the point where the trach can come out. He must still be fed through the gastric tube. He assists in getting himself dressed.

Ron is able to better communicate his thoughts and asks ‘why’ or more questions to help him better understand. Midway through the first 40 sessions, when Ron went to physical therapy, he was able to accomplish a walk (with the walker and some assistance) in less than 10 minutes when previously, it took him 30 minutes to complete. He seems to be more alert and can comprehend more.

The staff at Hyperbaric Medicine is wonderful. It is truly a pleasure when you call and Michelle answers. She always greets you with a smile and helps with the scheduling.  Harman and Leeann are wonderful techs and are truly knowledgeable and skilled. They always have the patients’ best interest and health issues at the top of their list.
